You are going to Love Where You Live! SOLD/Closed
Sunday, March 30, 2014I have to say that the high end of the market has made a dazzling appearance this Spring. There are two or three real beauties on the market now, and 309 Hollow Tree Ridge Road is definitely one of them. The fabulous Connecticut classic sits like a story book Cape just back far enough off the road, but close enough so that if you tend to admire houses as you drive by, this one might cause an accident. The asking price is now $3,400,000, (originally $3,975,000) and we have no doubt you will be silenced by the stunning recent renovation (as well as the gorgeous wall paper and paint job through out the house). Offered by Nan Peter and Hannah Burge at Kelly Associates.
The curb appeal doesn’t get much better than this. If you are in this part of the market, this will not disappoint.

Out on the trail…..
Wednesday, November 7, 2012So much has been going on the past few weeks. Our Sister Parish Design trunk show was a great success. If you missed it, check out the website! It really is great stuff. www.sisterparishdesign.com .
Then the hurricane!
It is time to get back to work and update you on what we have seen out “on the trail”. Here are some highlights:
14 Park Place is a really nice, sunny home listed for $889,000. This 1990 square foot home has a wonderful kitchen and breakfast area that open to a spacious family room (with radiant heat). On the 2nd floor are 2 bedrooms (was 3 converted to 2) and the third floor has a spacious master. It has numerous closets and a spa like bathroom. It’s a winner! This price range has been limited so I am excited to show it to some clients this weekend. (This property is no longer available. Prudential CT.)
278 Noroton Avenue, listed for $1,285,000, is the home I used to live next door to. It is a very distinctive green victorian with a unique garage portico and porch with a turret. This home has a lot of rooms and space and with a good architect, could be a landmark in this area. Listing through William Raveis.
8 Fox Hill Lane is a cape with a ranch feel that has been fully supped up (listed for $2,195,000). 4516 square feet, 5 bedrooms and 1 lovely acre on a great in town street. It has loads of gracious sun filled rooms and a very elegant feel. The kitchen is on the smaller size but I loved the green painted cabinets. Listed by Leigh Finley at Kelly Associates.
Noteworthy Price reductions:
79 Hollow Tree Ridge Road has been reduced from $1,575,000 to $1,395,000. Who can forget the Benjamin Weed House that is just a few homes down from 89 Hollow Tree. With its 4 foot high fireplace with beehive oven and modern updates, this home should not be overlooked. THIS PROPERTY IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE/ Kelly Associates.
Both these homes are favorites of ours and we are surprised they are still available. Quite an opportunity here!

Heaven on Hollow Tree
Wednesday, May 16, 2012We knew it was coming, and we were lucky to preview this 1920’s house at 593 Hollow Tree Ridge Road, down at the end of a lovely country driveway. Asking $2,800,000 through Kelly Associates, be the first in!
We have talked about front doors before and this will be no exception. This is a door! Heavy, wide, and laden with much love – check out the door knocker.
Imagine the shock when we walked in and saw THE WALLPAPER. It is THE WALLPAPER that inspired us to use the pineapple as our own signature at Real in Darien. Something about this particular pineapple is quite perfect. And It is just the appetizer for the rest of the house.
It is all in the details… the wide staircase, the beautifully proportioned second floor landing, the old hardwood floors, the french windows in the living room, the shutters, the terrace that wraps around the sunroom and bucolic garden out back. The sun light that pours into the living room, even the linen closet at the top of the stairs is “old school”: doors and draws inside the closet. No, you cant keep her fabulous furniture, but you can create your own paradise here as Hannah has over the years. This is a very special house and will make the next owners very happy.
Don’t miss this opportunity to live in a home with such timeless elegance. Call us for a showing of this once in a lifetime spot.
