Market Update: Where is everyone?

It has been a long slow Fall this year, with limited inventory and many buyers sitting on the sidelines. A few people have ventured into the market but mostly we are wondering where everybody is? Has all that “pent up” buying power subsided? Inventory is low, yes, but there are some houses on the market in various price ranges that should not be overlooked. I am not talking about the over $3,000,000 price range where you have a quite a selection of fabulous houses, like my new favorite 1 Siwanoy.

17 Stanley Road came on the market last week. A sweet cottage that is ‘move-in ready” and has opportunity for expansion. The $795,000 price point suggests that it will not last long on the market since this is a very sensitive price range for people looking to get into Darien.
